A VERY special evening of music indeed - talk about exceeding expectations - truly manna from heaven! Mixed in with a lil'bit of voter registration and some stimulating and progressive political discussions complements of HeadCount and Andy Bernstein of the voter registration group, which produced the event as a benefit for their organization. The discussion also featured independent presidential candidate Buddy Roemer, climate change activist Jessy Tolkan, No Labels cofounder Mark McKinnon and Grateful Dead lyricist, poet, essayist, cyberlibertarian, and progressive political activist - Sir John Perry Barlow. The round table briefly discussed $upermoney in politics, personal freedom and liberty and the upcoming presidential election and what we need to do to help make the system work - vote - for starters. But the real focus of the night was music, with Bob Weir & The National, providing the main course! The National & Special Guests included Aaron Dessner, Bryan and Scott ! Devendorf -- along with Walt Martin from the Walkmen, Sam Cohen and Josh Kaufman from the Yellowbirds, Conrad Doucette of Takka Takka, and National contributors Thomas "Doveman" Bartlett and Kyle Resnick. Thanks to the grateful folks at Bobby's TRI Studios the night and music was a stunning success.
